Meredith Piper Art Show

A native of Louisiana, Meredith Piper is new to the Greenville art scene, but has already made a name for herself in textiles, oils, acrylics, and pastels.

Being made from dirt, Meredith Piper can't help but be drawn to the great outdoors for inspiration. Her work explores the beauty of nature that is all around us, light, colors, textures, and patterns.

Her use of textiles in art add a rich and varied depth to the work. In the space at Textile Hall, Piper's work highlights the storied textile history of the area, once known as the "Textile Capital of the World."

Join us Friday, April 7 from 6pm-9pm at Textile Hall for an opening show including drinks and hors d'euvres and see Piper's exquisite pieces on display. The show will run April 7 through June 30 at Textile Hall.

Join us on Thursday, July 21 for the Community Business Shark Tank at the Phillis Wheatley Community Center. We will hear pitches and presentations from local entrepreneurs and graduates of the Business Entrepreneur Academy. Judges and audience votes will award prizes to the top three pitches.

Nasha Lending is looking for 5 business owners/entrepreneurs interested in competing for a $1,000 prize and business mentoring for 6 months.

Qualifications:

1.     Must be an existing business NOT an idea for a business.

2.     Applicant must be 18 years old or older.

3.     Applicant must be a resident of Greenville County.

Competitors will be asked:

1.     How big is this startup idea (what is the potential impact to Greenville County?)

2.     Can this individual execute the idea?

3.     How well did the individual sell the idea?

4.     What resources are needed to succeed (how viable is this really)?

Kelly has been a resident of Greenville for 10 years. Born and raised in Baltimore, Kelly moved south to attend Clemson University where she earned a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and a Masters of Education in Community Counseling. She spent the first half of her career serving the upstate as a child and adolescent counselor before moving into the marketing field. For the last 5 years, Kelly has traveled the country as a Marketing Consultant for Chick-fil-A, Inc. She is passionate about investing in people and serving the community. Kelly and her husband, John, love spending their days enjoying the company of friends and family with their two daughters, Harper and Macy. As Market Director, Kelly is responsible for leading the Mill Village Mobile Market and developing community partnerships.
